Pray for our nation’s heroes this Memorial Day.

Dear ,

As Memorial Day approaches, we bow our heads in honor of the courageous men and women who served, fought, and died for our country.

It is a solemn day of remembrance when we praise their acts of valor and express our deepest gratitude for defending the freedoms that we hold dear.

By helping our deserving military and veteran families at the VFW National Home for Children overcome great challenges and recover from the invisible wounds of war, you have honored the memory of America’s war heroes and the values that they fought to uphold.

That’s why I have included a special gift just for you—a soldier’s prayer card. Simply print this email and keep it with you over the Memorial Day weekend.

I hope you find the words inspiring as you pray for our nation’s heroes and remember our brave veterans.

I hope that you will also remember the families at the National Home, in particular the children, who often shoulder the burdens of families in crisis.

In honor of Memorial Day, can I count on your donation to help a military family in crisis?

For struggling military and veteran families, your support means a second chance. It gives them a safe haven, the opportunity to strengthen the family circle and a path to rebuilding their lives.

It’s only with your help that we’re able to honor our brave troops and veterans by helping their families.

On behalf of everyone at the National Home, thank you for your generosity and for remembering the military and veteran families in our care this Memorial Day.

With gratitude,

Sue Alverson
Development Director
