Attention Students! The VFW's Patriot Pen and Voice of Democracy Essay competitions, are underway. The Patriots Pen Essay competition is for the 6th., 7th. and 8th. grade students, and the Voice of Democracy Essay, is for High School Students. Our Post judges will select the winners in each group, will receive a monetary prize. The Post's winners will then advance to the District, State, and finally the National competition. Each year the VFW National, selects the Patriotic Topic for the competition, and the students have to write their essay, following the competition rules. This is always a wonderful way for us to pass on the patriotic spirit to our youth. Parents and Teachers, we need your help in making students aware of this opportunity and coaching the students through the process.
Reminder: School, has started! When driving, please remember that the Children will be walking, riding their bikes, and taking the Bus, to and from school. Drivers need to pay Special Attention to the children, in the morning and afternoon, and especially when they are getting on and off the School Bus and Crossing the Street!
When the School Bus is stopped and the Red Lights are Flashing, you are to Stop, at a safe distance behind the Bus and Do Not Pass, until the Red Lights stop flashing and the Side Stop Sign has been closed!
