John Rogge
Member - Navy

It is with a heavy heart that we have to report that one of our World War II members has been called to the Lord. John Rogge, was an Officer in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Cincinnati, in the  South Atlantic.  After the war, John and his wife Betsy-Ann, moved to Brigantine, in 1948. He worked on the island in his father-in-law's business and John also got into local politics and became a Councilman and Mayor, for many years. John and Betsy-Ann were known for reaching out in ways, large and small, to help their Brigantine neighbors in need.  John was a valued member of our Post, who was always there to volunteer his services and support.  But most of all, John was a valued friend of Our Veterans. Rest in Peace John!  Until we all meet again.
